How it all began
What started as a 3 month dance holiday visiting South America ended up being an eight-year stint in Colombia for Sita. Where she immersed herself in the culture in the worlds Salsa capital -Cali. After years of dance training and learning from an array of some of the best Salsa Teachers the world has to offer she took a Salsa teacher training course. Then went on to teach Salsa in three of Cali’s most famous Salsa schools for five years. Returning to York as the pandemic hit she has been sharing her love of Salsa Caleña in Rowntree Park and SPARK since June 2021.

Salsa Caleña is a unique style of Salsa it’s fun, fast and endless footwork patterns will keep you on your toes-literally! Although most famous for some of their jaw-dropping professional acrobatic competitive performances the Salsa Caleña social style Salsa is super fun.
If you are an absolute beginner or a seasoned dancer there is something fun and new for everyone in these classes.

You do not need a partner for these classes, we will be learning new routines every class. A combination of footwork and partner work. These steps can be used to spice up your shines when dancing other styles too. Find us by the table tennis tables or in the ampitheatre area. Drop In Class £9.50 pay on arrival cash/ card.

Looking for a way to get your guests on the dance floor, break down some barriers and put a smile on everyone’s face at your wedding reception? How’s about a 45 min Salsa Class? It’s fun, it’s unique and no matter what age everyone can enjoy this activity.
Hen Nights
Hen nights are about making memories, about putting smiles on the girls faces and most importantly having a giggle. What better way than to create your own Salsa routine, take some fun videos and photos to look back on. Other dance genres also possible.
You can also choose from a cocktail making package at the gorgeous Speakeasy Hi Ho Club in the centre of York. Where you can learn to make (and drink) some delicious cocktails and do a Salsa Class as well!
